When people think of massage they frequently think of strained backs, shin splints and sciatica. Massage is amazing for injuries and bodily wear and tear, but it is good for so much more. Massage is an excellent tool for relieving anxiety and depression, insomnia, and fatigue. Modern society has in many ways stigmatized touch and as humans we suffer from lack of simple human contact. Quite simply, as a society we are touch-starved. Some more vulnerable communities are doubly so. Stress, trauma and tension collect in our bodies, creating soreness, knots, headaches, depression, tightness and strain. Massage helps, touch helps. Massage doesn’t just relax the body and help heal our muscles, it allows the body and mind to heal.

Saja is a graduate of Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA). Before seeking a Masters in Acupuncture, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Business Administration from Stevens-Henager College in Ogden, Utah.

She began her path toward a career in acupuncture in 2004, when she had her first set of acupuncture treatments, and fell in love with the modality. Then, while in school at PIHMA, she learned about Community Acupuncture and felt she had finally found her place in the beautiful medicine she had been studying. She is amazed every day by how much acupuncture can help people. By being a Community Acupuncturist, she is able to see her skills benefit a greater number of people, which allows her heart to sing.

When not poking, Saja enjoys spending time with her significant other and two young sons, filling the time with board games, Legos, trains, and dinosaurs—at times simultaneously.
